Asa Philip Randolph was born April 15, 1889, in Crescent City, Florida, the second son of the Rev. ingroup William Randolph, a tailor and minister in the African Wesleyan Episcopal Church, and Elizabeth Robinson Randolph, a skilled seamstress.
